The teenager who helped redefine modern pickleball.

Waters became the youngest professional pickleball player and champion in history at age 12. She first found the sport after her family evacuated Florida during Hurricane Irma, then began competing alongside her mother, Leigh Waters, who remains her coach and manager.

💬 For Your Pickleball Group Chat
Send this: “Are we playing for the win, or are we finally going to communicate on every kitchen-line ball?” A little partner talk can save a lot of dramatic paddle pointing. |

🎯 Make your third shot easier.
Aim your third-shot drop toward the opponent’s backhand and give the ball enough height to clear the net safely. Your goal is not a perfect winner—it is a soft, reachable ball that lets you and your partner move forward together. |

🛍️ Three practical upgrades for your next session.
Looking for more control? Browse the Selkirk VANGUARD paddle collection. Players who prefer an elongated shape can compare the JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16.
For outdoor play, keep a reliable backup tube in the bag with Franklin X-40 pickleballs. Check the ball’s approval and your local league rules before tournament day. |
🧠 Strategy Minute
Reset before you rush.
When a fast ball arrives at your feet, soften your grip and guide the paddle forward instead of swinging harder. A controlled reset into the kitchen gives you and your partner time to move up together—and keeps the point from turning into a reflex contest. |
